Strength I Need

This wonderful scripture stamp is from
Our Daily Bread Designs. I would love to have one of every single one of their stamps. The phrases and images are great and the quality of the deeply etched rubber is perfect.
The die cuts are by Spellbinders. From their Label and Borderabilities lines.
The phrase was stamped on cream card stock. A white gel pen was used to highlight some of the bold letter.
The card base is a duplex paper of black and beige. The advantage of this paper is that I don't need an insert of light paper insert or a light gel pen to write my greeting inside. This is especially important when you give your cards as a gift. Most people that I gift with a card set don't have gel pens and won't buy one either.

More Blue Snowflakes

The white and dark blue card stock layers have been die cut with a Spellbinders Labels die. Now that white card stock has been a little "altered". I got out my snowflake stamp collection and went a little over the edge. (aka - out of the box) I also used some white sparkle embossing powder for one snowflake. There are also die cut and punched snowflakes floating around on it too.
The label was cut in half so there are two cards. Note the epoxy bubble over the snowflake on the phrase. It is left over EnviroTex from my last Friendly Plastic session. I used Crafter Pick Ultimate glue to attach it.

Scotties Everywhere!

Guess who owns a Scottish Terrier? Yup, we do. MacDuff is such a sweet little rascal. These stamps from Viva Las Vegastamps looks just like him and the phrase is perfect for a dog lover.

We have here the same paper and stamps with three different layouts.

Just for You

A very easy fast card. Yes, really it is. The only part that is stamped is the phrase. Scrapbook paper is glued over the card front. Now I will admit that I am strongly considering trying to use some of my flourish stamps to copy the flourishes on this paper. I do like the look.
The phrase is stamped on coordinating scrapbook paper and embossed with fineline white embossing powder. Note the sponging on the card base and the phrase banner. It adds depth and softens the entire design.

Sharing the journey

Such a simple card, yet so elegant.
Scrapbook paper is glue to the front of the card base. The edges are sponged with dark brown ink to add depth and interest. The maroon strip has a deocrative accent cut with the Create A Cut paper cutter. If you don't have that product you can draw two parallel on the back of the paper and use those as cutting guide lines.
The phrase is by Viva Las Vegastamps. It was stamped with VersaMark and embossed with fineline black powder then layered on the same maroon paper as the decorative accent strip.
The little pearly dots are Liquid Pearls by Ranger. This particular color was white opal.

Faith

This is one of my favorite phrase stamps. There is a lot in my life lately that has not been easy, but with faith in God and by God's grace those things have been possible.

The background is done with foliage stamps by Fred B. Mullet. The phrase stamp is by River City Rubber Works. I used fine line black embossing powder. The lattice border is a dye cut from the Cuttlebug line. It was cut in white card stock then sponged the same green as was used on the foliage. I also used that green to sponge around the edges to create a subtle frame.

Definitely a Man's Card

This is a card for a man. My husband even liked it!

The train image is by Uptown Rubber Stamps, which no longer exists as a stand alone company. It has been stamped with black pigment ink and the embossing powder is black fineline.

The phrase is printed on inkjet transparency.
It is: "When a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark, you don't throw away the ticket and jump off. You sit still and trust the engineer. ~Corrie Ten Boom"

The card base is plain white cardstock. I seldom work directly on my cardbase. I have seperate pieces of cardstock cut that are the same size as my card base and work on those. Many of the techniques I use will warp the cardstock and I have found that using a seperate piece for the card front and then gluing it to the base allows me to place the finished piece under a heavy book to dry. The finished product is very flat and crisp in appearance. This is one reason I seldom use double-sided tape.

A Spellbinders Rectangle Nestibilites die was used to cut the opening in the card front and the card base at the same time. Open the card up, place the card front over the open cardbase and hold the two firmly together with low tack masking tape. Pick a rectangle that will fit the size of the transparency, position on the two layers, hold in place with low tack masking tape and run it through your die cut machine.

Now use the same Spellbinders Classic Rectangle Nestibilities die and one a size larger and cut TWO frames of plain brown card stock. These can be held in place on your paper with that lovely low tack masking tape too.

I glued the transparencty in place on the card base. Then glues the base and the front together, matching up the rectangular openings. Now make that transparency stand out a little by attaching one of the brown frames.

You will have an inked piece that has been cut out from the card front. Carefully position in inside the card base so that is shows through the transparency and glue in place. The second frame can be glued around the inked cutout.

The finishing touch was a sponging of brown inks around the outer edge of the card.

The vintage flourish card front was created using Distressed Inks by Ranger. I used the ink pad to pull ink across the entire card and create a scratched wood look, then stamped flourishes with various shades of brown. The final step was to heavily mist the entire piece to cause the inks to "fade" and spread out. Giving a worn faded vintage look.

I think I like these inkjet transparencies!!!! Wild Women of the West Stampers - give it a try.

Basic Stamper Tip: Low tack masking tape is a must have for stampers. I use the lavender low tack masking tape from Walmart. Only under the most extreme pressure will it adhere to card stock tightly enough to pull a layer off when removed. The only die cut machine that can apply that much pressure is the Wizard by Spellbinders.
