Embossed Ovals

This is such a delicate card.
The original idea was
CASED from my long time stamping pen pal
Celia Magro. She is a super stamper
and sends me cards that challenge and inspire me.

Begin by layering a 4 x 5.25 inch white
embossed piece of card stock over a light
pink card stock.
I used my narrowest Perfect Layers
edge to cut the perfect layer.

Cut and emboss the two sizes of pink ovals
using Spellbinders Beaded Ovals dies.
Then cut the coordinating ovals that
fit inside the beaded ovals from Spellbinder
nesting ovals.
Now emboss those ovals in the same
folder that you used to make the white
embossed layer.
Attach the pink embossed ovals
to the center of the white beaded ovals.

The smaller oval layers are positioned in
the lower right corner of the card.
The larger oval layers have been make
to stand out from the card with 3-D foam.

The flower and butterflies have been
punched from a pearlized white card stock.
Some clear Stickles was added to both.
There is a adhesive backed rhinestone
in the center of the 2 layer flower.

Bosskut made the flourish which
has been cut from plain white card stock
and attached to the largest of the ovals.

The Spellbinders tag has also been cut from the
pink card stock.
The phrase is computer generated and
was sized at the time of creation to fit this tag.

Hubby's Valentine

Here is the card that I made for my husband for
Valentine's Day.
While this is a Valentine the basic idea
would work for any "man card".

The textured layer, which is dark brown, was
done with a Cuttlebug folder. It looks like the decking
from a cattle pot. OK, let me explain, my husband
trucked cattle all over the western United
States for about 10 years. This looks
like the texture of the aluminum on the
floors of the cattle hauling trailers. It
was to help keep the cattle from slipping.
This type of texture is also used on some
of the aluminum steps put on pickups
and ramps for loading things
in the back of pickups.
Why am I blathering on about this?
Because this texture is a very manly
guy type look.

The ric rac is a Sizzix extended cut die.
The hearts are a McGill punch.
The stamp is an unknown from when
I first stamping 19 years ago.

I Am With You Is 41:10

First step - White card stock embossed in
a Sizzix embossing folder.
Next in line, DCWV Citrus stack and Citrus
card stock stack. With DCWV card stock
punch-around-the-page (EK Success Martha Stewart)
and attach the matching glitter paper.
On this one I rounded the corner
because the corner was rounded with
the punching as well.

The scripture is computer generated in PSP.
It has been cut out with a Spellbinders Label.
I did not want as wide a border as the next size
up Label would provide, so on DCWV Citrus
card stock stack paper I drew around the same
Label that was used to cut out the scripture
and hand cut with a scissors.

The final cut was a bit of the corner punch
on the upper right had corner.

Big Merry, Little Christmas

Four very similar cards with the same basic design.

Begin with a computer generated "merry".
It took a little experimenting to get just the right size.
I worked in landscape format with two columns
in Word 2003 and got four "merry"s per sheet of card stock.
The "merry" was then cut out with a
Spellbinders Label die,
then embossed in a Cuttlebugembossing folder.

The "Christmas" is also computer generated.
These were cut out with Spellbinders oval Nestibilities.
Some were layered onto the coordinating scalloped ovals
and others had ink sponged around the edges to make
them stand out slightly from the "merry" label.

The gold card is gift wrap that has been attached with
spray glue to card stock. It was then embossed with
a Cuttlebug folder as was the "merry" label.


The blue backgrounds are K & Company scrapbook paper.
This design has endless possibilities.
My husband has an anniversary card the
has a big "happy" and a small
anniversary. The design is done is black and white.
This design is easy to mass produce and
great fun to give.

Peek-a-boo Card

This card begins with a piece of scrapbook
paper attached to the lower 1/3 of the card base.
A coordinating plain card stock
is embossed in an embossing folder.
A portion is then punched in an
EK Success Martha Stewart border punch.

Note that one of the diamonds on the embossing
has been cut out and a piece
of the scrapbook paper is glued underneath.

Now glue the card stock to the card base.
You now have an "Any Occasion" card.
The greeting that you stamp or write
on the inside determines what kind of
card it is.

Ephesians 2:8

Such an easy card to make!
Begin with K and Company scrapbook
paper. Attach a piece about 2 or more inches
wide to the bottom of a card base.

Use one of Our Daily Bread Designs
scripture stamps.
It has been cut out with Spellbinders
nesting rectangle die, while
the piece is still in the metal die,
use a gel pen draw around the inside of the die.
Mount the phrase on the same
paper as that used on the card base
and trim to desired border width.

The dark brown card stock was cut
with a Spellbinder's Lotus Borderabilities,
then run through an embossing folder.

The leaf has been cut and embossed
using a Spellbinders leaf die.
This was done using Highlighting Foil
that had been glued to card stock.

A Quick Thank You Card

This card was an experiment that went right.
The Cuttlebug folder used for the embossing came
with a plate of die cut phrases, none of which suited my
needs at the time, BUT the space used
for those phrases is adequately sized for
small stamped phrases.

The colored card stock was embossed,
stamped and cut to be slightly smaller
than the card base. Very simple, elegant and
easy, easy, easy.

There are times when I am just not up to
an involved fancy design. My soul longs
more and more for simplicity.
