Sympathy Cards

All three cards have the same basic design.
The middle one was made first.
It is the only one that has the stamped
image embossed with fine line black embossing powder.

The leafy branchy type trim
is an EK Success Martha Stewart punch.
I don't know the maker of the stylized tree,
but the trees on the top and bottom
are from a company called Bear Rubber.
I don't know if they are even in business anymore.

The images and phrases have been die cut with
Spellbinders circle and oval dies.

I Am With You Is 41:10

First step - White card stock embossed in
a Sizzix embossing folder.
Next in line, DCWV Citrus stack and Citrus
card stock stack. With DCWV card stock
punch-around-the-page (EK Success Martha Stewart)
and attach the matching glitter paper.
On this one I rounded the corner
because the corner was rounded with
the punching as well.

The scripture is computer generated in PSP.
It has been cut out with a Spellbinders Label.
I did not want as wide a border as the next size
up Label would provide, so on DCWV Citrus
card stock stack paper I drew around the same
Label that was used to cut out the scripture
and hand cut with a scissors.

The final cut was a bit of the corner punch
on the upper right had corner.

It's A Jungle Out There

You may not be able to read the tiny phrase, so just in case, it says, "It's a jungle out there !"

A white card base that has been distressed is the first step. Now the jungle prints from DCWV are layered onto dark brown cardstock that is cut with decorative scissors. The tiger image is stamped on white, torn out, distressed and attached with 3-D foam mount. Note that the tigers eye is yellow, a felt tip marker was used for this.

The stamping of the ferns were the last step.

Watercolor flowers

Using a stamp to create a soft water color appearance is far easier than it appears. There are several ways to achieve this "look". I will try to explain all the methods that I have used and in the next few days show you the results.

First you need a stamp. I love the Hero Arts line of florals. These are rather bold stamps and work well for this technique.

1. Mist your stamp lightly.

2. Color directly on the stamp with water soluble

oil pastels. I found the Portfolio Series at

Staples to be inexpensive and they work well.

3. Mist the stamp again.

4. Stamp on paper of choice. Now if the image is too dark mist and stamp again, without

recoloring.

5. You can mist and stamp to create a shadow image as well.

Play with the technique on scrap paper until you find the amount of color applied and the water misting that works best for you.

I used two colors on the flower and one green on the stem.

The words are computer generated, punched out and edged with a gold leaf Krylon pen.

The flower image was cut into an oval using a Coluzzle template and it to was edged with the Krylon pen.
