Purple Flower In Frame

An embossing folder is used to create the texture that
is the base layer for this card.
The textured ivory paper is cut to 4 x 5.25 inches.
The little berries are highlighted with glitter glue
and the whole is layered over purple card stock.
The purple is cut to a perfect narrow border using
Perfect Layers rulers.

Now we come to the framed k & Company sticker.
Begin with a purple card stock that has been
texturized in Cuttlebug's Distressed Stripes
embossing folder.

The frame was cut using both die cuts at the same time.
This is the only way I have found to get it perfect.
The dies are taped with masking tape to the paper,
cut in my trusty Wizard and while the tape is still
attached they are embossed.

The frame is raised over the sticker layer by
a double layer of paper egg carton cut
into small bits and glued carefully to
the back of the frame.

Ovals and Diamonds

The basic color scheme is cream and purple.
Two embossing folders were used in this design.
The cream paper that is embossed is a
Sizzix Christmas folder. It is supposed to be holly.
Yes, that's right, holly, and I could never find it.
But it does have great flourishes and berries.
At least I guess they are berries. Who knows?
The purple card stock under the K and Company
sticker is also embossed.

The frame is a Spellbinders Lacy Oval with
a nesting Diamond on the inside.
It has been raised off the card face
using two layers of paper egg carton glued together
and cut into sizes that fit the back side of the frame.
The three butterflies on the frame were
punched with an EK Success Martha Stewart
punch. The gold metallic is a candy wrapper
attached to card stock.

Can you tell I am into "recycling"?
Actually it is not recycling, it is being frugal.

Framed

The image inside the frame is stamped on a scrap of polished stone background paper. It was embossed with fineline black embossing powder. I have no idea who is the maker of the stamp.

The frame stamp is from PSX (Personal Stamp Exchange) which has not been in business for a number of years. It was stamped on black cardstock and embossed with fineline gold embossing powder. Pop dots were used to raise the frame over the picture.

The lovely border stamp is from another out of business company called Stampa Rosa. Again fineline gold embossing powder was used.

This basic design has so many possibilities. Any type of frame would work. What about paper that had been textured in Cuttlebug A2 embossing folder? Frame a picture of your kids and send the card to grandma? A picture of your dog or cat? A border of textured paper or layers of scrapbook papers? Oh my, I think I need to get to my studio and create!

I do love this paper. It looks so like real material. You can even see the "weave". I have no idea what company manufactured it.

I lost the front cover and never dreamed I would have a blog and want that information, so was not terribly worried about it.

The frame has been cut using a Spellbinders nesting dies. The paper in the frame is from the same stack as the paper on the front of the card base. That is one of the major reason I like to buy stacks of scrapbook paper. All the paper in the stack will coordinate.

The flouish is a Sizzix extended cut die. "Blessings" is a sticker I got from Serendipity Stamps.
