When I got up this morning I happened to glance out
the sliding glass doors to the snow covered wheat field
that is about 1/2 mile south of our house.
It was covered with ELK.
They are vermin, rats of the hill country.
My estimated count it around 66 head, give or take a few.
These nasty creatures are devastating out wheat field.
They paw through the snow and literally dig out the
wheat plants and eat them.
Deer will merely paw through the
snow and nibble off the top of the wheat plant.
We are in no way compensated for feeding these unwanted
elk through the winter and are not even given ONE
hunting permit so we at least have some meat.
They are Game and Parks elk so Game and Parks
should feed them.
OK, rant over.
