1. Emboss the lower 1/3 of 4 x 5.25 inch piece of white card stock.

2. Place ribbon over divide between plain and embossed.

3. Attach white embossed piece to green card stock.

4. Trim green to narrow border.

5. On the back of the green/white piece attach flat pieces of paper egg carton

    to create a 3-d look.

6. Cut two floral stems, one from white and one from green.

7. Using Twinkling H20’s paint the flowers on both stems.  You will notice

    the paint on the green is several shades darker than that on the white.

8. One the white stem, cut off the flowers.

9. Matching the white painted flowers to the green flowers that are still

    attached to the stems, offset the loose flowers ever so slightly.  You want

    a narrow “shadow” to show underneath the white painted flowers.

10. Glue stem to card front.  I use a white glue and a toothpick to carefully

      place glue on the back of the stem die.

11.  Use the Bow Easy to make a perfect bow to place on the stem.  Position

       as shown on picture.

12. Using the Cheery Lynn Designs small exotic butterfly die cut with a

      metallic paper, cut a butterfly and if desired cut an Angle Wings liner

      for the butterfly.

13.  Place butterfly on stem. 

 

Memory Box and Spellbinders dies on the Classy Cards N Such website have many dies that will work wonderfully for this particular design.

Using Scrap Ribbon

 Hate to toss those short pieces of ribbon that

are left over after making bows?

Well how about using them on a card front.

With Sympathy

 

A very simple card.

The lacy border is from an EK Success punch.

DCWV made the stack that the DP came from.

A Fancy Tag by Spellbinders frames the phrase.

Some pearls were added for a touch of elegance.

I have a pdf file available using this phrase.

It is ready to print using two columns.

Simple Elegance

This is such a simple and yet elegant card.

I positioned a 4.25 x 5.50 inch piece of white

card stock in Spellbinders Framed Labels 18.

After running it through the Wizard it was

attached to a plain white card base.

The computer generated "with sympathy"

was cut with another Spellbinders die

and attached to the label part of the embossing.

Sympathy Cards

 The above card is on a Glimmer Mist base.

The dies cuts are Spellbinders dies.

The phrase is computer generated.

 The pink layer has been textured with an embossing folder.

The two die cuts are from Spellbinders.

I have no idea where I got this black and white paper.

The die cut is Spellbinders.

The pearl accents are from Viva Pearl Pen.

Watercolor Pressed Flower Stamping

 

A very very simple card.

The corners of the card base have been rounded.

An EK Success border punch was used for the

flourish border.

Now we are going to get to the fun part.

I used water soluble oil pastels by Portfolio

to color directly on my stamps.

Then the stamps were lightly misted with water.

I would recommend some experimentation on

scrap paper before you stamp on your "good" paper.

Sometimes I stamped on scrap paper, re-misted and 

then stamped on my good paper.

These Hero Arts flower stamps have been stamped 

on an decorative edged oval post-it note,

the oval was then mounted on a plain white card stock oval.

The leaves and baby's breathe images were separate stamps. 

I used the flat portion of a paper egg carton

glued to the back of the layered flower image

to create a 3-d look.

Basic Black

 These are three cards that a made a while back.

I love the elegance of the black and white or

black and cream.

 You can do a lot with layering and an embossing folders.

A little ribbon and some brads complete the look.

For My Mother

This design is now residing in my mother's room

at Heritage of Bridgeport nursing home.

The gingham flowers are so cheerful.

The gingham is an Impression Obsession stamp.

I went totally crazy the day that I got it and

just stamped lots of colors of gingham.  Just love it!

Gingham Butterfly

After running a piece of 4 x 5.25 inch white card stock

in an embossing folder

through my trusty die cut machine,

it was layered on a bright pink paper.

The butterflies were punched out of various

colors of gingham butterflies.

The butterflies are over Bosscut flourishes.

Shaping of the butterflies was done with

a large stylus.

The body of the butterflies was accented

with pearl white pearl pen.

Cream and Rust Sympathy

This card looks complicated, BUT when you deconstruct

and take it step by step it is simple.

A cream card base is the start.  

Now a cream 4 x 5.25 inch card stock

that is run through an embossing folder

and layered over a rust.  This was

trimmed to a narrow border using layering rulers.

The frame is from two Spellbinders dies.

I place both of these on the card stock at

the same time and tape into place with

low tack masking tape and after

cutting it is embossed using the rubber embossing mats.

The edges of the inside and outside have

been sponged with a rust ink.

On the back side I have created a 3-d

look using the cut up flat pieces of a paper egg carton.

This is then put over a piece of EK Success dp.

The phrase is stamped with VersaMark ink

and embossed with dark green embossing powder,

layered over rust and both have been cut with

Spellbinders Nesting ovals.

This is also raised for a 3-d look with

more flat pieces of paper egg cartons.

Shaped rust flowers and dark green leaves

from Punch Bunch are arranged on the

upper left and lower right corners of the frame.

See, it was easy.  Step by step and you have

a lovely elegant card.

Bronze butterflies are die cut using

Cheery Lynn Designs dies.

Cowboy

 Start by attaching a brown and cream crackle DP to

a card base.  Now stamp a scenic stamp with VersMark

and heat emboss with fine line white.

The top card has a punched and layered border at the

bottom of the card.

The stamped cowboy image has been colored

with colored pencils, crinkled up into a ball,

flattened out and distressed.

The edges of the images on both cards have

been "burned" by first sponging the edge with

a light brown ink.  With this sponging

the ink extends fairly far into the piece.

Next sponge with a darker brown ink, 

leaving some of the first inking exposed.

Now catch the very edges with black ink.

More Gingham

Pink, pink and more pink!

The gingham is done with an 

Impression Obsession cover-a-card stamp.

Flower centers are large white brads.

A textured piece that is 4 x 5.25 is layered over 

pink card stock.

The gingham is under a Spellbinders Label frame.

The frame is made by placing two different labels

on the paper at the same time

They are held in place with low tack masking tape.

I leave them together after cutting to emboss,

the embossing adds so much.

This frame over the gingham is placed towards

the top of the card.

The frame is computer generated and die cut

to a square.  Now the flowers, leaves and

flourishes are added.

I think with my next go at this design

I will use plain flowers.

Love That Gingham

 Just love Impression Obsession's gingham stamp.

I tried just about every color of ink that I had.

The flowers are punched and a large white brad is used

as the flower center.

Leaves are a light weight card stock.

One inch strips are folded in half and run

through a corrugator at an angle

and then  the leaf is cut free hand.

When it is unfolded you have a texture

that looks kind of like the veins of a leaf.

A Bosscut flourish die cut adds

some pizzazz and yet goes with 

the rather casual country style of the gingham flowers.

The phrase is computer generated,

cut to a strip and attached to the same 

green card stock as the leaves and flourish.

A decorative scissors was used to cut the scallop

accent border under the phrase.

A Sympathy Card

A sympathy card.  I really hate the fact that I seem to 

be needing more and more of these.

The phrase was stamped with VersaMark

and heat embossed with fineline gold embossing powder.

The stamp is from Personal Stamp Exchange, aka PSX.

It was die cut to a rectangle and the corners rounded.

Narrow border were cut on the green dp and those

corners were rounded as well.

That same green dp was used to cover the of

the white card base and opposing corners

were rounded.

A white piece of card stock was

cut 4 x 5.25 inches.

Marianne corner die was used on opposing corners.

and the other two corners were rounded.

Patterned card stock weight dp was

used for the flowers.  They were punched and 

shaped, with brown Pearl Pen used for the centers.

Leaves were cut from dark green cardstock 

using the Cheery Lynn Designs olive branch die.

Pretty Posy

The Inkadinkadoo image was stamped with

VersaMark and embossed with fineline black embossing powder.

The coloring was done with Twinkling H2O's.

It was cut with a square Spellbinders die and centered

in a dark green die cut.  (again by Spellbinders)

Another Spellbinders product used is the

embossing folder used for texture.  

It is a foliage type design.

It was cut down to 3 3/4 x 5 inches,

mounted on dark green paper

and that was trimmed to a narrow border.

Balck and White

 Playing with black and white.

It can be ever so elegant.

 Several different stamps, layering,

scrapbook paper, embossing folders

 and a little ribbon.

Give Thanks

The lovely scallops are cut with Spellbinders A2 Borders dies.

These could be addictive.

Some K & Company DP and plain white card stock

can look lovely with the right die cuts.

The scripture was done in PSP X with

the fancy flourishes from a Cheery Lynn Designs die

that has been carefully cut apart.

It's all in the die cutting and the layering.

Gingham Flowers

So I got this new stamp from Impression Obsession.

It was a gingham cover-a-card stamp.

I absolutely love it!

The gingham was stamped in different colors,

then a punch was used for the flowers..

A white brad is the center of each flower.

The foliage was created in a variety of ways,

narrow straight pieces form the basic stems.

A Bosscut die that was cut up was used for the

flourishes.

The leaves are formed by cutting 1 - 2 inch stripes of

green paper, folding in half, running through

a corrugator at an angle and

then scissor cutting while still folded in half.

River City Rubber Works made the stamp.

A scallop decorative scissors was used on the 

green border of the stamped phrase.

Simple Folds

 I found this card online and immediately printed off the

instructions, but sadly did not include who had designed it.

This is a very simple design.

Cut a piece of card stock 4 1/4 x 11 inches.

Score at 5 1/2 and 8 1/4.

Fold as viewed in the two card samples.

The borders in the top sample are Spellbinders

A2 Scalloped Borders die set.

Stamp unknown.

You Bless Me

Another Cheery Lynn lattice die cut over

a neutral DP.

The phrase has been cut with a Spellbinders Label

and layered over another label that has been textured 

with an embossing folder.

The flowers are from Michael's Recollection line

with blue "jewels" as their centers.

The heart is another jewel.

The branches of leaves are Punch Bunch punches.

This phrase is a very generic one.

It can be used for birthdays, get well, 

what ever and you just write an

appropriate greeting on the inside.
